Renewing your registration
Both businesses and individuals will be invited to renew registration just before they are due to expire. When you renew, OFTEC will check the relevant details before processing your renewal application.
Reminders to renew
OFTEC will send you a reminder approximately four to eight weeks before the business and/or individual technician registration is due to expire.
Reminders will be either emailed or posted to the business contact details we hold. If your details have changed recently please let us know at email@example.com so that we can keep our records up to date and ensure you receive your full benefits of registration. Before you renew, please check you have at least one registered technician working for the business on the day of your renewal and please check their technical qualifications are in date.
How to Renew
Renewing your registration could not be easier. Simply call the registration department on 01473 626298 (from mobiles) or 01 864 5771 (from the Republic of Ireland) and pay by debit/credit card or ask about setting up a direct debit arrangement.
Our office is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
If you are due to renew your business registration and technician registration together, and both expiry dates are within three days of each other, you can renew online at www.ofteconline.com.
To renew online you will need your company registration number and your company login for your online account. These will be sent to you in your renewal reminder letter sent in advance of your expiry date. If you do not have your reminder letter to hand please contact the registration deptartment on 01473 626298 (from mobiles) or 01 8645771 (from the Republic of Ireland) for your log in details. We will however need to ask you some security questions before hand.
Renewing online is available three months before the expiry date and up to six months after the expiry date. Renewal after six months can be done by contacting the registration department by telephone on 01473 626298 (from mobiles) or 01 8645771 (from the Republic of Ireland) as a re-joining application fee may be applicable.
Renewing but you have recently changed details
If your company or technician details have changed since your last period of registration please let us know these changes when you contact us to renew. Alternatively, you can log into your ofteconline account and update your contact details directly. If your business has changed name, you will need to complete a business change of name request. Please contact our registration team for details.
When you first register you are asked to provide evidence that you have the minimum technical competency for the type of work you wish to be registered for, such as a certificate of achievement from a UKAS accredited certification body to BS EN ISO/IEC 17024 or a qualification mapped to the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF)
BS EN ISO/IEC 17024 qualifications are valid for five years, after which time you will need to provide further evidence of technical competence such as re-sitting another assessment. If you need to renew a technical qualification please contact an OFTEC Approved Training Centre. Due to the high demand for courses, we recommend that you book your course well in advance of your qualification expiry.
