Keeping warm and saving money

With energy prices rising and great pressure on household budgets, homeowners are looking for reliable advice.

OFTEC has joined forces with the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) to create a new website called www.Oilsave.org which has been set up to help oil heating customers save money and maximise their energy efficiency. The website provides impartial advice, information and access to the best possible service, enabling oil users to make informed choices about their future energy needs.

The information includes advice on the simple steps needed to upgrade an existing oil heating system and make other energy efficiency improvements. The Oilsave website also compares the pros and cons of other heating options and helps homeowners plan for the future when oil will be used alongside renewable technologies, providing a cheaper, more flexible heating system.

To find out more visit the Oilsave website now.

You can also download an information leaflet about energy efficiency or order a hard copy by ringing 01473 626 298.

OFTEC has also joined forces with Age UK to create an information guide with specific advice for older people. Recent research has shown that more elderly people now live in the countryside than in towns, and many will use oil heating. The information guide includes money saving tips, advice on energy efficiency, oil tank security and useful phone numbers for further help, together with general advice on staying warm and heating payments and schemes for the over 60’s.

Anyone can order a copy of this winter heating guide, free of charge, by calling OFTEC on 01473 626 298 Alternatively, it can be downloaded as a PDF file below.
